Fox News senior judicial commentator Judge Andrew Napolitano thinks newly discovered emails of Democratic Rep. Anthony Weiner’s laptop could be enough to criminally charge Hillary Clinton, via Western Journalism.
In an appearance on Fox Business Thursday with host Stuart Varney, the judge said he thinks incriminating material on Clinton is piling up, and that she could be indicted if the FBI re-opens the investigation.
“The significance is an FBI acknowledgment that Huma Abedin, former spouse of Anthony Weiner, had a top security clearance as the number two assistant” to the former Democratic presidential hopeful, he said.
Napolitano went on to say that Abedin “regularly sent copies of sensitive material to her own laptop so she could look at it at night, either knowing or forgetting that her husband had access to it as well.”
Napolitano was referring to a report by the Judicial Watch, a conservative watchdog group, that said of 2,800 documents found on Anthony Weiner’s computer. Napolitano said this revealed the disarray of the Department of Justice under Clinton’s leadership.
“This, yet again, shows the culture in the Hillary Clinton State Department of a cavalier attitude about the handling of government secrets,” Napolitano said.
“It also shows the FBI awareness of it,” he added. “It also shows the president’s frustration with it when in a tweet this morning he said, ‘There she goes again, crooked Hillary, Jim Comey let her off the hook again.’ Something I profoundly agree with him on.”
“But, he should pick up the phone and call Gen. Kelly and say, ‘I want you to call Jeff Sessions and Rod Rosenstein, Rosenstein’s the number two person in the Justice Department, tell them to re-open this case and go wherever the evidence takes them,” Napolitano finished.
“I’m not saying she should be indicted, go where the evidence takes them,” he added. “The evidence will take them to an indictment.”
